Biotech is huge in SD, most large r&d and big pharma all have companies here. Tech wise: Qualcomm, Sony... they are not doing as well as biotech.

It would depend on your level of skills and what really interests you. If you have good clerical skills, you might try putting applications in with the City of San Diego, the County of San Diego, Cox Cable, Time Warner Cable, try any of the Television Stations, or better yet go on line to USAJOBs.com and see what the Federal and State Governments have available. But if I were you I would get the Book "Now Discover your Strengths" and find out what your strengths are and then find a job you love that best suits those strengths so that you don't become depleted by being in a job you really can't stand to work in.
3 :
Look up www.greatjoboption.com if you like what you see e-mail me or look me up on my web-site www.ortizconsultants.com. If your looking for a company that is solid and traded on the NYSE and is growing this might be what you're looking for. Looking foreward to your opinion. Good Luck have a great day.

I don't think anybody could give you an accurate answer but there are lots of people who live in Mexico and work in San Diego. That's why it takes sooo long to cross into San Ysidro during rush hours because of all the people commuting back and forth on a daily basis.

About what is the best bank to work for in San Diego, California? For a personal banker position

What is the best bank to work for in San Diego, California? For a personal banker position?
I'm considering applying for personal banking positions at various banks in SD. As far as salary, benefits, hours, work environment - what's the best bank or credit union to work at? Anybody who's ever worked as a personal banker or similar position - what's your opinion? I have a Bachelors degree, (graduated egregia cum laude) and have just over 2 years customer service/cash handling experience.

Bank of America - San Diego, CAappears to be the best bank to work. Personal Bankers (PBs) are responsible for offering and selling financial products and services (i.e. Credit Cards, CD's IRA's, Loans) to both consumer and small business customers. Establish, develop, retain, and deepen long-term relationships with current and potential customers in the community. Meet sales and customer delight goals by proactively meeting and greeting customers quickly identifying needs as they enter the store. Perform tasks such as opening deposit accounts, taking loan applications, handling customer service requests, etc. Support other sales associates as needed. Perform senior teller functions when assigned to in-store locations. The salary is about # $30,000.

It depends on what part of town you would like to work. I worked at Subway in La Jolla when I was younger, I would recommend it.
2 :
Mall jobs, family restaurants, host/hostess jobs, YMCA or boys & girls club (all you need to get is a CPR certification which is easy)...but what part of SD are you in anyway? It really depends on that too, because then people could suggest smaller businesses that they know of that would hire someone around your age.
3 :
Theaters. They hire lots of people so you're able to get time off if you ask for it. If you stick around a year or so you can get promoted. If you're going to be taking college classes you can work around your schedule. My kids have worked other places that aren't so flexible. Legoland is a good place to work too. They hire for the summer, then rehire some people for the regular year. Also look at Sea World, Wild Animal Park and the Zoo. Once you've graduated you can get a regular adult job--you don't need a work permit anymore.

About which city is better to live and work in Miami, San Diego, or New York City

Which city is better to live and work in Miami, San Diego, or New York City?
I am going to be graduating for college and my major is Journalism. soon and down to three cities I would love to work and live in. I never been to any of them , but I have been to Los Angeles which is close to San diego. I like New York but I hate cold weather , but I guess I could deal with it. I heard miami is laying people off a lot and I haven't heard anything bad about san diego. Which city do you think is best?

I hate to break it to you kid, but now was a really shitty time for you to turn of age. Unemployment is through the roof meaning there are college grads with years of experience in the work-force who don't have availability restrictions and will take your place flipping burgers

you will not be able to find a good job down in SD. the economy is shifting to other states where it is cheaper to manufacture and live. college graduate or not, you will have a hard time finding a job in southern california. but on the other hand, mcdonalds is always hiring.
