As you probably know, the best day to read the classified ads is Sunday. That's when the most companies place their ads. There are a few great sources: (1) The San Diego Union-Tribune is the only newspaper in the County. If you can't purchase a Sunday paper then try: (a) Going to your public library. There should be a San Diego newspaper there. After all, San Diego IS the nation's 7th largest city. (b) Depending on where you live, there's always a newstand which sells papers from out of town. Look 'em up in the phone book, and call them and find out if they carry the San Diego Union-Tribune. (2) Do you know what part of San Diego you will be moving to? There are a few regional papeers, like the North County Times. They might have local listings. (3) The 2nd most-read paper in San Diego is The Reader. It comes out every week, and their classified ads are huge. (4) You can look at the Union - Tribune classifieds online (See listing below). However, if you're not a subscriber to the home delivery, I believe you'll have to pay a fee. But it's worth it -- good way to stay in touch with the community you intend to move to. (5) Lastly -- if you're not planning on moving to San Diego right away. You can subscribe to the newspaper, and ask just for Sunday delivery to be mailed to you. Yes -- good receptionists are needed. Take care.

About how does the justice system work in San diego

how does the justice system work in San diego?
Well tonight my bff was pulled over while running up to the store for me. She dosen't have a liscense and has 2 felony warrants, and 2 years ago she left the state while on probation. Now I know the city I come from would smack her hand and let her go with 1-2 years probation. But how does it work in san diego, Ca? What do you think will happen to her as far as sentencing goes? Please only serious answers..I have been stressing about it all day.

What city would allow a person w/that type of record to get away w/a "slap on the hand' ?? That is not helping the violator to learn a lesson. Fines, possible probation, jail time, etc are all possibilities - each person/case is different and each judge rules differently. No one can really answer your Q fully; only your friend when he/she goes before the judge

I am looking to get a tattoo and I want to go to a really good place in San Diego. Any suggestions?
It's just like fnding the perfect place to get you're hair cut, however ink doesn't leave you're body so I'm looking for a great parlor, even if it's a little pricey, I'm willing to pay for great work. In San Diego anywhere would be great!

Balboa Park might be a good option for you. It is beautiful, safe in the mornings and evenings, and groups organize free and very inexpensive fitness classes and hiking parties at the park (here's one example: http://mindfulfitness.com/parkfitness.html).

About anyone know of a good car dealership to work for in San Diego, as a salesman

Anyone know of a good car dealership to work for in San Diego, as a salesman?
I am looking to get a sales job in at the Automotive industry again. However finding a good honest dealersjip that doesnt manipulate the pay structure is very hard to find. Any one know of a good dealership. I sold for ron baker 2 years ago when gas was horrible and the average salesman was only getting 31/2 cars per month, and the structure was manipulated, you couldn't raise a family unless you were consitently selling atleats 7 every month, once you hit 8 you were golden, it was just so uncommon, I am also interested in selling a different make of vehicles etc. nissan, mazda, toyota, kia....... Any ideas? Remember I am in San Diego. Thanks a lot Josh

Josh I sold cars for many years before getting a different sales job. do some foot work go out and talk to the sale's people find out how many have been there more than a year if the average guy you talk to has been at that dealership only a few months..that's a bad sign!! I worked at Guaranty Chevrolet in Santa Ana Ca. The average sales person was there more than 5 years! some even had 20 years there. Why because there good people so check out the dealerships first. There's good ones out there! also It really doesn't matter what you sell it's the foot traffic and inventory the dealership has that matters.. good luck remember work consistently and you WILL get consist ant results!!

The ones like Mr. A's and Ruths Chris Steak House. The servers there make a career out of serving at these places. The menu prices are high, and they have full bars with top notch alcohol and extensive wine lists.; and that makes for darn good tips.

Work in busy restaurants if you want good tips. But then again, hostess don't get tips. Only waitress get tips. Become a bartender if you want good tips.
7 :
I had dinner at Island Prime near the airport a couple of weeks ago, and the waiter could NOT say enough good about the owner/Chef Debra Scott! It is also a pretty high end restaurant, so I imagine the tips are very good as well. Debra Scott has two other restaurants that I know of in San Diego as well. Both are delicious and seem to have happy and proficient wait staff: Indigo Grill in Little Italy, and Kemo Sabe in Hillcrest.

About I live in San Diego, CA. How can I send mail with a Houston, TX address in the "from" section

I live in San Diego, CA. How can I send mail with a Houston, TX address in the "from" section?
I have this great business idea and the address is crucial. How do I work from San Diego, but have my mailing address say "Houston, TX" for example? The "from" address is crucial to the business. Thanks!

You can write whatever you want on the from section. However, these little things called postmarks will kill your idea, because they will show that it was mailed from cali, regardless of what you write on it.
2 :
sounds like mail fraud to me. only standard address which mail can come back to you should be used. Plus the name of your business is more important. The only way i see is to get a P.O Box or a drop off in texas
3 :
Well i Just moved to San Diego from Austin and I have a PO Box there for my Address but I have it forwarded here to San Diego that way I don't have to tell my relatives were I am at ... they think I am in Texas While I am really 1000 miles away at the beach. Hope that helps

About best way to travel from Los Angeles to San Diego

Best way to travel from Los Angeles to San Diego?
My wife works in San Diego and I work in Los Angeles. What would be the best place for us to relocate to make travel easier for both of us and what are our travel options (driving, Metrolink, buses) and how much time would it take in these scenarios. We are ready to move to a new location if it requires. We are currently in Torrance, CA. Please note that I work in Torrance and she in Balboa Ave/15 Fwy. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Los Angeles - 6 Answers

Even moving halfway between them, is going to be at least an hour's commute - especially going towards LA. Orange County would be closer though; try Laguna Niguel, Irvine or Mission Viejo. I think Amtrak goes between SD and LA; but it might be easier for your wife to just drive to SD...... Too bad YOU can't work there too:) It's an ideal place to live.......
2 :
Well theres the train station in fullerton and you can take the surfliner by amtrak to san diego. its fast, only a few stops, and no traffic! but to relocate somewhere in the middle, if your into the beach maybe san clemente, which the surfliner stops at.
3 :
Find the train that goes from LA to San Diego, and start by looking in cities along the rail lines. Ideally, you should start in Oceanside. Why? Because that is where the COASTER (from San Diego) ends as well as the southern terminus of Metrolink. You can each take the train to work without having to switch. Check out www.metrolinktrains.com for a list of stations, and check out those cities: Oceanside, San Clemente, Tustin, etc.
4 :
Hi, I live in Gardena (almost Torrance) and my best friend lives in San Diego. Several times a year we meet in San Clemente or San Juan Capistrano. You could take the train (Amtrak) or drive. Traffic during the week can be really bad. Those 2 areas are quite pricey. How about Vista?
5 :
I would look around Oceanside as then you could use the commuter trains (Metrolink to Los Angeles) and your wife could use the Coaster to San Diego and if you got passe for the commuter train service *usually* the same pass is vaild on Amtrak as well as connecting transit (ie metrolink pass will be vaild on Amtrak from oceanside to Los Angeles)
6 :
Metrolink runs from Oceanside to LA. Coaster runs from Oceanside to SD. Amtrak runs all the way from LA to SD. But even with the train, it's going to be a long commute for both of you.

About live in Tijuana, Mexico but work in San Diego, Ca

Live in Tijuana, Mexico but work in San Diego, Ca?
Can I live in Mexico and work in S.D? I was born in Mexico, however became a U.S Citizen in '06. I have been really pondering on the idea of living in Tijuana while I work in the U.S. Will I have a problem doing that? I heard about some form FM-2 or 3? Since I was born in Mexico...would I have to get one of those?? Thanks for your help!

1 :
Just get one of those"FastPass" ID's at US Immigration & you are good to go. You don't need a FM-2 or FM-3 since you are a MX citizen
2 :
I believe Mexico allows dual citizenship, so you can just bring your Mexican and U.S. passports with you as you cross each day. Border line wasn't so bad when I was going through last March. Might be a good way to save money.
3 :
Good question....Do you recall renouncing your country of origin at the swearing in ceremony? Dual citizenship applies to one that was born in the USA (or anywhere)of Mexican parents. Mexico does not recognise any other form of "So Called" duel citizenship. FMTs,,FM3s and tourist pamphlets are not required in bordertowns. You can probably circumvent the rules as your Mexican birth cetificate will get you in to Mexico and use your American passport card or book and enhanced drivers licence to return but if they record your comings and goings you may have some "Splanin" to do. This is my opinion and in no way an endorsement. As well you would have "TAX"issues with the IRS Best to call your Consulado de Mexico for all the facts. Best of luck
4 :
Not a problem. My employer has over 4,000 people and quite a few of them live in Mexico and many of those are not U.S. citizens.

anyone here live in san diego and work in LA? How is the commute? How long is it? How bad is the traffic coming to and from?
San Diego - 3 Answers

1 :
Los Angeles and San Diego are separate cities. There are many jobs in Los Angeles, but hard to find. I am sure the commute is pretty good. I don't know how long it is, it depends on the transportation that you take. In downtown, it can have lots of traffic.
2 :
With no traffic it is two hours from San Diego to central LA. To start work at 8am in LA you would probably have to leave San Diego by 5:15am because of the traffic in LA.
3 :
It's roughly 120 miles each way. You would probably spend more time in you car commuting, than at work on you job IF you can find one. But if you own lots of stock in Exxon it may be worth it.

I'm not sure if they're closed Sunday or not, but Croce's downtown is a pretty ritzy place, right near the Gaslamp District. It's kind of a jazz club, so I would expect that the busy days would be Thursday through Saturday.

Ortegas. its in hillcrest
